“Motherhood is a gift — a surprise waiting to be opened, a package full of joy waiting to be shared. May entail sacrifices along the journey but the wisdom and love received are worth more than the pains and tears.” Mommy Andrea
Mommyhood is a life that is worth exploring with other moms. Journeying its different facets is more stimulating, manageable and survivable when you share it and discuss it with mothers such as yourself.
I am Mommy Andrea, a.k.a. MomBlogger and I welcome you to this blog. This is the journal of my experiences, my discoveries, and my learnings as a New Mom. Along the way, you will also read the stories of other New Moms and who knows, maybe in your next visit, you’ll find yourself inspired enough to share your parenting anecdotes too.
Some little facts about my being a mommy.
- The CS Mom. I delivered my smart and open-spirited boy named Makoy through Caesarian section or CS after about 9 hours of excruciating labor pains. Every blood, every sweat, and every tear I shed diminished after I saw his darling face. Maybe it helped that he looked so much like me. My junior.
- The Recovering Mom. Immediately after, we had our second baby we named Mavic. I delivered him through (another) caesarian section on my eight-month of pregnancy. He survived for only less than an hour as his internal organs were not fully developed. It was a loss I still cry over every now and then until today. Recovering from a loss is a continuing process and it is through the love and support of my family and friends than I am surviving the grief.
- The Hard-working Mom. My daily average working hours is between 12 to 18 hours. My son would sometimes complain about it as he wanted me to spend more time with him. I make amends by ensuring bi-weekly quality bonding activities just between the two of us. I also make sure we have our five- to ten-minute talk and hugging session every night before his sleep.
- The Shopping Addict Mom. If there are two things I love doing that relaxes me, that would be ‘mommying’ and shopping! My husband would roll his eyes when I come home lugging new items inside our small home. I just can’t stop buying. Oh well, to compensate for this expensive hobby, I have learned selling my’ and ours’ preowned stuff online.
- The Techy Mom. Being a modern-day mom, I am completely into technology. I love web browsing, blogging, computers, and everything techy! In our office, they call me the ‘tech support’ since I am very handy in troubleshooting their computer and other tech-related problems. Career-wise though, I’m actually a training officer and a manpower development professional.
I always say ‘life is what we make it’ but in parenting, it does not go that way. No matter how much we try to raise our child in the best way that we can, we can never manipulate the kind of person they will turn out to be. Nevertheless, we should never get tired, lose hope and surrender in guiding them. After all, we’re Mothers!
